A short update to the blog with more to follow going backward and posting of pictures. We summited on July 8th (9 hours up and 4.5 down) getting in to high camp at 17,200 around midnight. We unfortunately had to pass the body (in snow) of the young Indonesian man who had perished the night before where we heard the calls for help from their guide and our guides went to help, just a few hundred yards from our camp.
We arrived on Kahiltna Glacier at our 6am on Friday July 11th after a 9 hour descent from ABC at 14,200′ – then we had to wait almost 13 hours until a plane could land and pick us up at around 7pm to get us back to Talkeetna. Re-entry has been hard as I got in around midnight on Sunday night and immediately had to be back at work on Monday morning and a board meeting today on Tuesday. More to come!
