A quick update (without pictures since this internet connection is like watching paint dry!
)
Today is Wednesday May 4th and we have dropped down to Pheriche. Tomorrow we will go back from Labouche to EBC to arrive by Thursday evening. Friday May 6th is rest, pack nd fret day ….
Current schedule from Dan – but all weather permitting – is
Saturday May 7th – from EBC through the Icefall to camp 1, sleep there.
Sunday – Camp 1- Camp 2 (up the Western Cwm or the Western Broiler) – sleep there. Reunited with our down suits and some stuff.
Monday – Camp 2- 3, up the Lhotse Face one more time, camp 3 at about 7100 meters or 23,500′.
Tuesday May 10th – First time from Camp 3 to camp 4 and start on oxygen. Arrive there late in day around 7900 or 8000 meters (around 26,000′).
Wednesday May 11th – REST, sleep on oxygen.
Thursday May 12th – First summit attempt from Camp 4, leave around 10pm, to summit by noon on Friday 13th (around 14 hrs up). If all things well, after summit, descend to Camp 4 or 3 if possible.
All of this is weather permitting – and the current forecast is for -25 to -45c tempts in our summit window.
Everyone is healthy and acclimitized and we’re trying to bulk up a little and get some more weight on before Saturday (just three days away!!!!).

All I can say Mitch is how proud I am of you. You did it, you summited! You are an incredible person, like an energizer bunny, you just kept going and you made it.
It is really inspiring to the see that all the planning and hard work took you all the way to the top. Even if just attempting to get up is a big achievement actually summeting makes it complete. A fantastic adventure, congratulations!

Just heard the amazing news. I’m truly in awe of the pictures and deeply respect what you have accomplished. Way to show that with heart, preparation and pure, raw determination one can do anything. This is on a whole different level in terms of accomplishments. Ironman is for preschoolers
