It’s only five weeks till I leave for Denali so it’s crunch time. My training is on-track and working to stay injury free. Today I did my 74th workout since coming down from Aconcagua 16 weeks ago, and this is totally in-line with my goals of getting to 100 before June 22nd. Have taken to alternate days of weight training, reducing running to more aerobic on the alternate days (while reducing mileage to save knees) and focusing on doing the 60lb – 15% – 45 to 60 minutes on treadmill. I have not been pulling the tires though with the pack, I need to do that few more times!
I still have Dipsea in three weeks, so will need some attention and practice for that as well.
The next big goal is to practice up technically … get the gear together and try walking in the snowshoes with boots and tying knots and messing around with all the stuff I need to mess around with.
And this in 85-100 degree weather!
