7 marathons. 7 continents. 7 years.

Welcome to the new ClimbingandRunning.com site! Today marks the official start of fund raising and sponsorship for the Everest 2011 expedition and the near completion of marathons on seven continents and summiting the highest mountains on the same seven continents. While work on this site has been going on for the last couple of months, the aggregate reaching of the 7&7 goal has actually have taken the better part of the last seven years. I’m super excited about the new site as it incorporates the best elements of previous site including overall cleanliness, look and feel and but now brings in a number of social elements such as Twitter, Facebook, and Flickr.
Since the original site went live in July 2008, I realize I still have a ton of work to do to write up the posts and post the associated photos from past years. All of which I intend to do over the coming months. So, stick around. Explore. Enjoy.
With a new logo design, I’ll be selling custom shirts, hats and one-of-a-kind apparel, though not quite ready yet – stay tuned. Sponsorship packages are still being finalized and I have identified a number of candidates are already. The donation section is ready and linked with PayPal for easy convenience.
My higher purpose and goals are self-evident: to be one of the only humans to have accomplished the 7&7 goals and to benefit Bridging the Digital Divide – enabling disadvantaged people in developing countries to enjoy the benefit of new technologies such as PCs and mobile phones. I still see this as a journey rather than a finale and I’ll continue to write on life’s adventures along the path and the day-to-day stories that make it all worthwhile.
I look forward to continuing on this path with you my faithful readers and friends.
I’d like to give a special shout-out to the creative development team behind this site who have endured a huge amount of changes and revisions to make this site a reality in a very short period of time: Jennifer at 9068Creative.com and Chris at 985MediaGroup.com – both of whom have been incredibly patient and enduring as we worked to ensure a site that popped and demonstrated world-class technologies in the new framework. Thank you guys!
Please join me as we continue our journey together, the objectives are near and at-hand now, and though the danger and challenges are no less, it’s the friends and people I’ve met who have made it all worthwhile, I hope you’ll come along and enjoy the sights along the way, there is still so much to achieve!

I think this website is amazingly beautiful! Who was your designer? I’m looking for a similar one.
